If we are honest with ourselves, we all have a goliath in our life. Maybe yours is unforgiveness. How about pride. Possibly its fear. My question to you is, what are you going to do about it? The spiritual realm is more prevalent than we realize. Unfortunately, most of us are unaware of what’s going on around us. The Bible gives us clear warnings on what to pay attention to in this world that we live in. He loves us so much that He gave His only son. By the death of Jesus Christ on the cross He has taken back authority from the enemy. This Authority is also ours to possess by first inviting Jesus into our lives. Where did all of this first start… having an agreement with a lie.
RECOGNIZE THE LIE (ask the Holy Spirit to bring it to light)
RENOUNCE THE LIE (Reject and rebuke it),
REPLACE THE LIE WITH GODS’ TRUTHS (Replace fear with how much God wants us to trust Him)
Let’s go right into the scripture and pay attention to what God is sharing with us in His word. One of the most common tactics of the enemy is FEAR. I’m going to use this emotion to help paint a picture and to teach you how to fight against the enemy. Of course, there are plenty of our ways Satan will attack us.
2 Timothy 1:7
“For God has not given us a Spirit of Fear and timidity, but of power, love and self-discipline.”
This verse indicates that there is a Spirit of Fear but it’s not from God. So, do I really need to explain who it’s coming from? How does it enter? How do I protect myself from the attack of the enemy? Can a Christian be under the attack of dark forces… the answer is yes!
Something to think about. Our thoughts come from 1 of 3 places. God, our own thinking and the enemy. Paul writes in 2 Corinthians 10:5 “We take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”
Why is it so important to hold our thoughts captive? If left unchecked, it starts to affect our emotions. If our emotions are out of sync they can and will affect what we do. Here are a few key words I want you to pay attention to:
FREE WILL – God wants us to seek Him, and the enemy comes to attack.
Romans 10:9-10 show an act on our part to show Free Will.
If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and you believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
God gives us a choice. Are we choosing to spend time in the bible and renew our minds? This is how we learn how to protect ourselves from the enemy.
AGREEMENTS – If we don’t break ungodly agreements there’s a good chance, they will become strongholds. This will affect the lens in which we view life. If these agreements are not handled appropriately, it will rob us of the life God truly has for us.
Here is a basic way to understand agreements and why they are so important. Let’s say your dad was physically or emotionally abusive. In his actions/words it created a sense of FEAR within yourself. What could happen over time… You start to believe this lie. Once this lie is believed to be true, you are opening the door to the spiritual realm. Have you met someone whose emotions are at a very high level? Especially when the emotion doesn’t match the environment. It’s possible they are under a spiritual attack. Who knows, maybe this person is you. Recognize the lie and replace them with God’s truths.
Ephesians 6:12 “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
AUTHORITY – Once Jesus died on the cross, He took all authority back from the enemy. So, the only authority the enemy has over your life is what you choose to give him. Authority in Jesus gives you your power back! Once Christian men and women realize this, they can start getting control over their lives and take back what the enemy has stolen from them. In Luke 10:19 “I have given you authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you.”
How do I know if I have a spiritual attachment and what do I do to fight against the enemy? Prayer, prayer and prayer! With the knowledge of how the enemy works in our lives we now have the tools to fight against any spiritual attack.
1) FREE WILL – We choose to invite Jesus into our lives and renew our minds through reading the Bible. Once we are armed with God’s promises… We can tackle any obstacle Satan puts in front of us.
2) AGREEMENTS – We look over our lives to see where the lies are hiding. Once these lies are recognized we replace them with God’s promises and break all agreements we have with the enemy.
3) AUTHORITY – Once you invite Jesus into your life you also have the same authority as Christ. Satan has been defeated on the cross. The only authority he has is the authority we give him.
Once 1 and 2 are acknowledged you speak with the authority God has given to you.
“In the name of Jesus Christ, I command the Spirit of Fear to leave me right now. You no longer have control in my life. You have been defeated on the cross. I command all unholy spirits to leave me right now in the name of Jesus.” Thank you, Lord, for setting me free.
GENERATIONAL CURSES – God is a fair and just God. Can I honestly explain how He works and operates fully? No, I cannot. Does your family have a history of Depression, Suicidal thoughts, Cancer, arthritis, High blood pressure? It’s possible this has been passed down through generational curses… in other words the sins of our ancestors. On a positive note, God wants us to receive those blessings as well.
In Numbers 14:18 it says… “The Lord is slow to anger, abounding in love and forgiving sin and rebellion. Yet he does not leave the guilty unpunished; he punishes the children for the sin of the parents to the third and forth generation.”
I tell you what.. that doesn’t seem very fair. But if you read through this article to its entirety, you learned something. Use your Free Will, break Agreements and use the Authority God has given to us! Here is a prayer you can say out loud that fights against the dark forces that may have been passed down through our generations
Generational curses and blessings:
4th generation is our great, great grandparents – Say… “In the name of Jesus, I declare the blood of Jesus, to stand between me and the 4th generation as a wall of separation. I cancel every assignment of darkness, I remove every right of the demonic, to afflict me, because of the sin of the 4th generation. And I call to me my righteous inheritance and the blessings of that 4th generation.”
3rd generation is our great grandparents – Say… “In the name of Jesus, I declare the blood of Jesus, to stand between me and the 3rd generation as a wall of separation. I cancel every assignment of darkness, I remove every right of the demonic, to afflict me, because of the sin of the 3rd generation. And I call to me my righteous inheritance and the blessings of that 3rd generation.”
2nd generation is our grandparents – Say… “In the name of Jesus, I declare the blood of Jesus, to stand between me and the 2nd generation as a wall of separation. I cancel every assignment of darkness, I remove every right of the demonic, to afflict me, because of the sin of my grandparents. And I call to me my righteous inheritance and the blessings of my grandparents.”
Parents – Say… “In the name of Jesus, I declare the blood of Jesus, to stand between me and my parents as a wall of separation. I cancel every assignment of darkness, I remove every right of the demonic, to afflict me, because of the sin of my parents. And I call to me my righteous inheritance and the blessings of my parents.”
For future generations – Say…”In the name of Jesus, I declare the blood of Jesus, to stand between me and my children, my grandchildren, my great grandchildren and all of my descendants, as a wall of separation. I cancel every assignment of darkness, I remove every right of the demonic, to afflict my descendants, because of my sin. And I give to them my righteous inheritance and my blessings.”
In closing, I would like to say a prayer over you: “Heavenly Father, thank you for all the wonderful things you have given to me. Lord, I’m learning to be grateful in all circumstances, even in situations I don’t understand. I’ve embraced the fact that you know all and see all and that I know nothing. My struggles give me an opportunity to grow and to build my faith in you. In the name of Jesus Christ I bless each and every person who reads this article with prosperity, peace, joy, love and a sense to understand you more. Holy Spirit, touch the hearts of those who are suffering and to those who are struggling with mental strongholds and who are under spiritual attack… Lord God with your power set them free! Amen.”
